The Edge of Winter - 13 artists, 26 paintings
Show and sale opens 2 pm Saturday, October 22, 2022, Art Lab Studios and Gallery, Parrsboro, Nova Scotia

Art Lab Studios in Parrsboro recently hosted a weekend plein air event called “The Edge of Winter.” More than a dozen artists from the Maritimes dispersed throughout the Parrsboro area, creating a body of work that is vibrant with fall colours despite the gray and rainy weather. The artworks reflect the vast area surrounding Parrsboro’s Jurassic shore. 🦕
The paintings are available for viewing and purchase from October 22 through October 30. The opening is October 22nd at 2:00 pm, a nice opportunity to see this collection and check out my other show with the Satupons that runs until November 3rd in the adjacent gallery at Art Lab Studios (121 Main Street, Parrsboro — it’s a yellow building, you can’t miss it).
Participating artists are: Michael Fuller, Kate Georgallas, Louise Hicks, Anne E Hill, Joy Laking, Dianne Jones, Natalie Legere, Susan Paterson, Julia Purcell, Carol Pye, Anne Wedler, Edward Wedler — and me too.
It was a fun weekend of painting as we got together for a meal at The Bistro restaurant on Main Street in Parrsboro — the food was amazing.
We had a small, informal after hours get together at Art Lab Studios, a chance to get to know each other and have a view of some of the paintings that were done that day.
Earlier in the day Joy Laking autographed her book, The Painted Province, for me.
The Edge of Winter show and sale opens 2 pm Saturday, October 22, 2022 and runs through to October 30. Thirteen artists, 26 paintings — a plein air treat.
Sounds like you had a wonderful time Mary Ann. Your framed paintings are very soothing and peaceful. Good luck with your show tomorrow! xx
