Blast from the past: on this day in 2011

plein air painting on the Halifax Waterfront (October 9, 2011)

This video was recorded Sunday, October 9, 2011.

Eleven years ago today.

I remember how beautiful, clear, and crisp the air was, maybe even a little on the warm side.

Lots of people were puttering about the boardwalk, embracing a Sunday stroll in the fall weather.

But few noticed me as I painted on the deck of a downtown office building, overlooking the harbour where this pilot boat was tethered to the dock.

Pilot No. 1, Oils on board (5 x 7-inches)

I like that it’s possible to hear people chattering and various other harbour sounds in the video. Watching it and seeing the painting again fills me with the ambiance of that day.

Hope you enjoy it too.

As always, thank you for your encouragement and support.
